Two dogs and seven soles dropped in on Reavis Ranch this past Easter weekend. The hills were still lush with greenery, the creeks full and the sky went from full sun to overcast as we hiked along. We cut through the 6.4 mile trek and set up camp just in time to shelter ourselves from a brief rainstorm. A few escaped horses and their harried owners reminded us that we were not the only ones camping at the ranch. No worries, the weather cleared in time for dinner. Soon after night fell, the stars broke through for a spectacular show.
The next morning offered us some cloud cover as we encouraged one reluctant dog back out of the canyon. (Its OK, he got his revenge.) The trip back out went even faster than the in-hike, and we were on the road by 2PM!
As a final treat the Easter Monster , though tired from his rounds, managed to wave goodbye as we drove out.
A hearty few draged ourselves to Four Peaks to toast the monster, the bunny and another successful hike.
