Abineau-Bear Jaw Loop

This is a loop hike in Kachina Peaks WA which starts southward through Abineau Canyon, then heads east and crosses Reese Canyon and Bear Jaw Canyon before swinging north again to hook up with Bear Jaw trail. Hike through conifer and aspen forests and open meadows with views of the Grand Canyon 90 miles away!

Difficulty:Moderate
Start Elevation: 8500 ft
Elevation Gain: 2000 ft
Distance (RT): 6 mi
Drive Time: 3.5 hr
Meeting Place/Time: 8:00 am Pyle Recreation Center and 8:45 am at Denny’s at Bell and I-17
Special Instructions: Bring day hiking gear, rain gear AND sunscreen and a lunch for on the trail. Since there are reportedly great views, you may want your camera and binoculars. We’ll find a great place in Flag on our w
