B24 Hunt & 6th Annual Pub Crawl in the Pines

Escape to tall pines and cool climate while we search for the wreckage of a WWII B24 bomber that crashed into the San Francisco Peaks in 1944. This is a well known crash site off of the Humphries trail. After the B24 hunt, it’s off to downtown Flagstaff for the pub crawl. To make for a more relaxed trip, we’ll stay at a hotel in Flagstaff near the pubs Friday night. Starting Saturday morning, we’ll hunt for the B24 then return to the hotel to shower and change. At 7pm the crawling begins. The plan is to meet at Beaver Street Brewery, hit some more pubs then “crawl” back to the hotel. We’ll return Sunday. Arrangements can be made if you want to meet up with us at any point.

Start Elevation: 9300 ft
Elevation Gain: 1900 ft
Distance (RT): 6 mi
Drive Time: 2 hr
Meeting Place/Time: 6:00 p.m. Pyle Recreation Center, 6:45 p.m. I17 & Bell Denny’s
Water: Bring at least 3 liters of water
Special Instructions: Do either or both events. Bring lunch for the hike.
