Granite Mountain Hike

The trail is a few miles north of Prescott -There is no water along the trail. The first couple of miles are along the valley bottom in the shade. Then there is a climb of 1400 ft or so to the top of Granite Mountain. The final stretch is back towards the trail head along the ridge-line. There are great views at the top – extending to Flagstaff in the north. Trail is in and out (not a loop).

Start Elevation: 5600 ft
Elevation Gain: 1700 ft
Distance (RT): 8.4 mi
Drive Time: 2 hr
Meeting Place/Time: 8:00 AM/PM @ Pyle Recreation Center
Water: Bring at least 2 liters of water
Special Instructions: Bring 2 liters of water and a snack for the climb. It can get a little warm on the way. Trailhead parking is $5 per car.
