Sandy’s Canyon to Fisher Point

Sandy's Canyon is southeast of Flagstaff in the cool pines near Lake Mary. This route joins up with part of the Arizona Trail and will end with Fisher Point at the west end of Walnut Canyon. The hike is fairly level as it passes through areas of scenic canyon red rock formations and views of the San Francisco Peaks. We can hike in and out or car shuttle to return at nearby Marshall Lake which is known for its wetland wildlife.

Difficulty:Easy
Start Elevation: 7000 ft
Elevation Gain: 200 ft
Distance (RT): 9 mi
Drive Time: 2.5 hr
Meeting Place/Time: 7:30AM Pyle Recreation Center, 8:15AM Denny’s at Bell & I-17
Special Instructions: Bring day hiking gear, water and lunch to eat on the trail. Also a rain poncho would be good in case of a summer rain shower.
